Camp DeForest in Lincolnville

Camp DeForest in Lincolnville is a summer camp-themed boutique motel designed to feel equal parts nostalgic and luxurious. It’s the newest project from Brady Brim-DeForest and his wife Jessica, a couple with backgrounds in storytelling, film, and immersive hospitality. After years in California creating narrative-driven spaces, including a pop-up speakeasy with its own white sand beach, and an award winning mid-century space race inspired desert getaway, they decided to put down seasonal roots in Midcoast Maine.

The property includes ten rooms in the main lodge and four stand-alone cabins, each styled to evoke the 1950s without sacrificing comfort. "It’s a little campy, but it’s also elegant," Brady says. "Relaxing and luxurious, but also immediately brings you back to what you imagine a 1950s lakeside camp in Maine might feel like." Much of the décor was sourced from estate sales and barns across the state. Think vintage board games, mid century lamps, hand-labeled trail maps, and wool blankets in primary colors.

Beyond the design, Camp DeForest is filled with small moments of delight. There’s a camp store in the lobby. Fire pits are lit nightly for guests to gather and roast s’mores. A custom-designed party game, frisbee golf, shuffleboard, and cornhole add to the sense of fun. "We wanted to build a place that felt like a true escape," Brady says. "Somewhere playful and immersive. A little bit magical."

The motel is already drawing attention from families, couples, and design enthusiasts alike, many of whom are eager to see how deep the camp-themed details go. With so much intention behind the design and experience, Camp DeForest is poised to become a summer favorite in the Midcoast.
