This year, the club awarded grants to Penobscot Bay YMCA, MCH Meals on Wheels, Wayfinder Schools, Homeworthy, Hurricane Island Center for Science and Leadership, St. George School Unit, Camden Area District Nursing Association, New Hope for Women, and Midcoast Recreation Center.
Concertgoers may bring picnic blankets and beach chairs to the Amphitheatre. Free water and popcorn will be available. The club will welcome voluntary donations to support local food banks.

Grit & Grace VIII at Camden Opera House - Night 2
Celebrating 15 years serving the Midcoast community with dance, KEA Dance Center prepares a very special evening for everyone, near and far. The company's annual dance studio showcase brings 70 dancers to the stage. From ages 7 and up, dancers showcase styles like contemporary, hip hop, ballet, jazz, funk, modern, contemporary jazz and more. Blended together through storytelling and the art of movement, this is not a recital – it is a production, built for one purpose: to inspire hope in you and our world today!
The caliber of uplifting and energizing numbers that will make you cheer, shout and clap along is truly transformational! A thread of hope and possibility is woven from moment to moment throughout the night, seamlessly taking you on a journey as dancers face grief and challenge during uncertain times while finding strength and courage to show up resilient each day!
From honoring the past, to facing topics teens are struggling with right now, you’ll witness the real and raw grit that molds dancers into graceful and brave humans. With a special highlight on mental health awareness, Director/Choreographer Kea Tesseyman brings to light that which lingers misunderstood in the dark. She asks her dancers, “Can we cast our fears into the light for them to be seen for what they truly are? Can we be honest and vulnerable even when we are scared? Can we transform darkness by shining so bright like a lighthouse, for all to find their way safely to shore?”
Tesseyman also has a special note for you, the viewer: “Dear Audience, I welcome you to join us for an evening I have been designing just for you over the past six months. My dancers and I have messages of resilience and hope we are excited to share with you in a time when we need it the most. Please support our work by simply showing up and helping us to complete the journey we set out on, to carry messages of strength and hope to the stage. When it seems most dark, we promise to bring you the light. This is also a very special anniversary show as we are celebrating 15 Years we have been open and creating dance productions in the Midcoast area. We welcome you into our dance family and look forward to seeing you from the stage. Sincerely, Kea Tesseyman, Owner/Artistic Director."
